Croquet and Lawn Bowling Rental Rates
Rental rate is $35.00 per person, which includes the following:

Exclusive use of all club facilities for up to 3 hours, including the green, clubhouse, PA/sound system, kitchen, cutlery and dishware, barbecue, and portable tables and chairs for dining

All necessary bowling/croquet equipment

Introductory coaching
-
Ongoing coaching throughout the games
A booking deposit of at least $100.00 is required to secure a slot on our Booking Calendar. For groups of 40 or more participants, a deposit of approximately 15% of the estimated rental fee is required. The deposit is refunded only if your event must be cancelled due to inclement weather or to a Provincial Health Order (PHO).
For rentals longer than 3 hours in duration there is an additional charge of $150.00 per group per hour or portion thereof.

We use an eContracts platform for all our Agreements so the signing process is very quick and no paper changes hands.
Clubhouse-Only Rental Rates
Rental rate is $55.00 per hour or portion thereof with a minimum rental of 2 hours. Rental includes the exclusive use of all clubhouse facilities, including PA/sound system kitchen, cutlery and dishware, barbecue, and portable tables and chairs for dining.
A non-refundable booking deposit of $110.00 is required to secure a slot on our calendar.

Payment
Payments can be made as follows:

By credit card; or
-
By cheque payable to the Dunbar Lawn Bowling Club delivered in person or mailed to P.O. Box 45023,4326 Dunbar Street, Vancouver, BC V6S 2M8.
Capacities
Minimum group size for bowling is 20. Maximum number of bowlers that can play at the same time is 64 (8 rinks, each with two teams of 4).
The maximum number that can play croquet at the same time is 16, assuming the entire green is used only for croquet. If the green is split between croquet and bowling, it is possible to have about 8 croquet players and 32 bowlers playing at the same time.
Maximum number for indoor meal seating is about 70. Maximum for outdoor meal seating is about 80.
Youth Games
In general, children aged about 13 or older are able to handle the smallest adult bowls. For children between the ages of 8 and 12 we have enough junior bowls for 8-12 players. Children under the age of 8 can have trouble wielding even the junior bowls, making the game somewhat unsuitable for them.

For croquet play, children should be 13 or older to be able to successfully handle the regulation croquet mallets which are significantly longer and heavier than the backyard croquet mallets sold commercially.

WiFi
The DLBC clubhouse is equipped with free WiFi for use by guests. The network password is posted on the bulletin board at the entrance to the kitchen.

Access and Parking
Our street address is 3850 31st Avenue W, one block west of Dunbar Street. Access for people and vehicles is from 31st Avenue and is shown in the sketch of the club premises at the link here.
Free parking is available on site for about 25 vehicles. There is usually ample free parking on 31st Avenue and other residential streets in the neighbourhood. Frequent public transit travels up and down Dunbar Street and there is a bus service (#25) that travels from the Canada Line’s King Edward station, straight down King Edward Avenue to Dunbar, a few blocks north of the club.

OUR FACILITIES
Your group will have exclusive use of our beautiful bowling green and clubhouse, all nestled in a private, tree-lined setting.
The clubhouse veranda is steps away from the bowling green and is a great place for a hosted bar.
At 9 metres square, our main clubhouse room provides a bright, flexible space for a wide range of purposes and comes with tables and chairs for up to 70 sit-down guests.
Your group will have exclusive use of our beautiful bowling green and clubhouse, all nestled in a private, tree-lined setting.
